Description
An account of the resource

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
This research explores, on one hand, the social representations of women regarding drug rehabilitation services, their needs and possibilities to access to those services and the barriers that they encounter by investigating the specificities of gender based on the terms they act, reproduce and/or breake with social commands.
On the other hand, it explores which are the social representations of service providers about women with problematic consumption and which are the main barriers to access that they have and/or perceive.
Finally, public policies on the subject are analyzed and it is suggested how to incorporate the gender perspective to them.
This work tries to be a contribution in this matter, that practically does not have records in our country, both by its approach and the population explored. Firstly, it addresses the issue of problematic drug abuse from the women´s perspective specifically, a little researched subject in Argentina and hardly explored in other Latin American countries. Secondly, it explores the sociocultural meanings of access (and its barriers) to rehabilitation as a response to problematic drug abuse from the eyes of its own characters. And finally, it also investigates the social representations that the referents have on the subject about the places where women attend to rehabilitate, trying to account for a problem made invisible so far.
Therefore, this research is a beggining for unraveling the question of which are the peculiarities that women present in their way to the access (or not) to rehabilitate from their problematic drug abuse.
