Durante este suceso político los medios tradicionales y digitales se inundaron de propaganda política, debates presidenciales y panelistas furiosos atravesados por una expresión que se venía discutiendo en la política global: fake news. El abordaje de esta temática como objeto de indagación, dado su análisis a partir de una perspectiva comunicacional, se vuelve pertinente para las Ciencias Sociales ya que las redes sociales desempeñan un papel crucial como medios de información durante las elecciones y en toda circunstancia de opinión pública para brindar acceso al votante a información imparcial y precisa. Resulta de interés abarcar las elecciones PASO 2019 en Argentina debido al alcance y difusión que tuvieron las noticias falsas en esta campaña y su estructura como estrategia de comunicación de los partidos políticos, principalmente el Frente de Todos y Juntos por el Cambio. En el período referenciado se encontró evidencia de una propagación deliberada de información falsa con el objetivo de dañar al adversario a través de herramientas como las fake news, los trolls y los bots.
