Argentina Description An account of the resource Esta investigación aborda la relevancia de la figura de Diego Armando Maradona para los estudios culturales, la sociología de la cultura y el campo de la comunicación y su vínculo con un universo particular que irrumpe en la vida de algunos argentinos y argentinas: el de los santos populares, aquellos surgidos por fuera de los márgenes de la Iglesia Católica y canonizados por el pueblo. Partiendo de la hipótesis de que Diego Armando Maradona fue un santo popular construido en vida y consolidado postmortem, en este trabajo indagaré en las distintas formas en las que devino santo, en tanto fue un símbolo en una disputa de desigualdades. Considero, a su vez, que las imágenes ―murales, altares, fotografías― cobran un rol fundamental en su condición.
