This essay proposes a crossover between the National Mental Health Law (26.657) and hospitalizations in therapeutic communities, trying to account for the scope that this law had on these institutions in the analyzed period (2011-2015). This analysis is carried out in two stages: initially from the description of the hospitalizations in therapeutic communities, its problematic drug use conceptualization and many Law 26.657 relevant scoring aspects to the subject. Then, through interviews with people who have been hospitalizated in therapeutic community, these aspects are explored by appealing to a first-person account of the experience. En este trabajo me propongo un análisis de los tratamientos realizados en dicho dispositivo, centrado en lxs usuarixs, preguntándome si es respetada su condición de sujeto de derechos. Este análisis requiere pensar al dispositivo en su funcionamiento intramuros (su método y estrategias de intervención, la construcción simbólica del/la usuarix1), y en su función extramuros: es decir, la Comunidad Terapéutica como institución (entre otras tantas) que opera en la producción del sentido, de las subjetividades, y en el control social de los cuerpos. The present Final Integrative Work is part of the field of Therapeutic Communities (TC from now on) - hospitalization device for problematic drug use-. In this paper I propose an analysis of the treatments performed in this device, focused on users, asking if they´re respected as subjects of rights. This analysis requires thinking of the device in its intramural functioning (its method and intervention strategies, the symbolic construction of the user), and its function outside the walls: that is, the Therapeutic Community as an institution (among many others) that operates in the production of meaning, of subjectivities, and in the social control of bodies. Although it is not possible to carry out an "objective" analysis of social phenomena, this work is an attempt to contribute to the generation of knowledge in order to improve mental health practices.
