La ciencia ficción, presente como forma de expresión cultural, se destaca por especular sobre las transformaciones generadas por el impulso de la ciencia y la tecnología. Es capaz de abrir perspectivas sobre mundos posibles y desarrollar conceptos que configuran una cosmovisión del porvenir de la humanidad. En este sentido, el análisis se desenvuelve sobre una selección de determinados episodios: Toda tu historia, Vuelvo enseguida, San Junípero y Arkángel. Estos episodios, independientes entre sí, comparten una temática en común: el malestar que provoca el impacto de ciertas invenciones tecnológicas. Se despliega la idea de que un conjunto de desarrollos técnicos en un futuro no tan lejano -podría considerarse parte de la sociedad contemporánea-, avanzan sobre la vida cotidiana en todos sus aspectos. A través de una perspectiva multidisciplinaria, este universo ficcional servirá como herramienta para cuestionar los mecanismos de saber y poder puestos en juego, cómo se desdibujan los límites de lo privado, de qué manera se redefinen nuevas fronteras de control y nuevas formas de vincularse con el otro.
