Abstract
The Star Wars Expanded Universe helps us reflect on the role of fans in content production and on their consumption of transmedia storytelling pieces. Being that our starting point, this study addresses the relationship between this process’ participants, explores the concepts of the canonical and the non-canonical, and it incorporates these elements into the definition of Transmedia. The focus of this work is set on the relational aspect of this kind of communication, on the conflicts within, and on the strategies used by the participants involved in the field of transmedia storytelling.
