Abstract
This research studies the editorial position of Clarín national newspaper regarding the politics and the national economy during the last months of the Peronist government of María Estela (Isabel) Martínez de Perón. The analysis extends from the economic measures popularly known as the "Rodrigazo" (June 1975) until the coup of March 1976. Through different tools of discourse analysis, this research intends to reflect the views of the newspaper during these previous months in which the coalition of military forces and civilians was brewing into what afterwards resulted in the overthrowing of the Peronist government. Considering a national newspaper as a key political actor, whose distinctive field of action is the exercise of influence, this dissertation reviews in detail the perspective of Clarín -one of the main newspapers of that time- in relation to major political, social and economic conflicts that shaped the period.
