Abstract

This research aims to approach the relations between Argentina and the People's Republic of China (2011-2021) through the analysis of the magazine DangDai as a cultural agent of the understanding between both countries. The diplomatic relations between Argentina and the People's Republic of China can be addressed in four periods: the first, 1972-2004; the second, 2004-2014; the third, 2015-2019 and the fourth from 2020 to today. DangDai magazine is an Argentine magazine that is defined as the first magazine of cultural exchange between Argentina and China. It was created in Buenos Aires in 2011. In this thesis I address the relations between Argentina and the People's
Republic of China from that year onwards, that is, covering from the second of the aforementioned periods. I analyze the function of cultural agent of DangDai magazine, looking specifically at diplomatic relations. I insist that DangDai makes a political intervention with the intention of favoring the understanding between both societies. This constitutes a political-ideological position and is the guiding thread of its practice.
