Abstract
This thesis called “Ergonomics and the ergonomist: a contribution for the development of the profession in the Argentine Republic”, aims not only to add unprecedented material to the little information that exists in the country about Ergonomics and its implementation, but also to the formation of its professionals. It is based on research on the available sources and the author’s own experiences as an actor of the process.
After the index and the author’s acknowledgment to all who have helped in his endeavour, the text begins with an introduction in order to justify the objectives of this paper and present the questions of the qualitative investigation; then the conceptual and methodological theoretical frameworks are developed , and finally an analysis of the historical and present day reality of Ergonomics in Argentina, its field of application, its actors, the laws and regulations that control it is discussed.
The paper ends with a number of conclusions and proposals to guide future courses of action in order to consolidate the profession and the acknowledgement of its professionals as such.
A series of interviews and surveys are included in the appendix, together with the bibliography.
