Abstract
The world and everything in it, is made to submit to man's consciousness in various ways, one of which is reflected by the representations. Through performances, understood as beliefs, images etc. Man knows and builds the world. They are "there" before the man emerge demands , however, modifies their actions in a dialectical game to signify the old and the new events that happen throughout the course of his life . In this existential becoming, a man ages . Aging is a process that potentially affects all human beings and that, by the mere fact of living, grow old. This is a process that is embedded in a social context that is what gives it meaning, so that interest is sociological analysis and understanding of the diverse social contexts in which the aging process, both biological and social, develops.Argentina is a multiethnic country and living in its territory specific Aboriginal cultures. This is a feature that is recently considered in constitutional law where his pre-existence to the formation of the National Government recognized. Many of these people, for various reasons where the economic is the most important, make the decision to migrate from their place of origin. This impacts their representational system should be modified to signify new events they will face in the new place, in this case, the modern city. The plasticity and ambiguity bearing representations allow migrants effectively mean the events will be presented in their daily lives and find the channels and ways to develop your life in your new residential context without losing its identity but transforming. This thesis examines representations of old age in a community-dwelling Qom suburban Buenos Aires and is part of the academic field defined by the Sociology of Aging, and although it shares its subject matter with other disciplines like Etnogerontología proposes an inspired look in the Immediate sociological tradition benefiting from all the eyes that converge in its subject matter .
