Abstract
The Thesis analyzes the mobility practices of the elderly in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires in order to know how they determine access to health care services and the exercise of their rights. In this qualitative, descriptive study, an approach is implemented from the perspective of mobility, centered on subjects and their desires or needs, which allows us to recover the cultural and subjective dimension of the action.
40 interviews were conducted with women and men 60 years of age and older in two health services, one public and one social work and 7 household interviews with frail elderly people.
Mobility practices, modes and degree of adherence are described and analyzed. Then, barriers and facilitators are identified in the access to services related to mobility.
It contributes concepts on Gerontomobility and sustainable urban Gerontomobility and determines ten dimensions to be assessed in the design of public policies aimed at this age group.
