Abstract
The opposition communication is a vacancy area in the political communication, usually focused on the electoral competition and the government communication. However, a study of this matter is essential to have a complete understanding of the democratic systems in communication terms and to understand the ways of positioning and the power of dispute that the opposition has. This thesis provides a comparative and synchronous research in this path. It focuses on the political opposition communication in Argentina from December 10, 2015 to December 10, 2017 for the cases of “Frente para la Victoria” / “Unidad Ciudadana” and “Frente Renovador”, characterizing their agendas (what), modalities (how) and conditioning factors (why). The research is confined to the study of the thematic area of the opposition communication for the cases chosen, in which the topics and the whole approach of both parties are identified to compare and contrast them with the Mauricio Macri’s administration approach. Thus, the thesis identifies interactions, contact points and conditioning factors of the opposition communication of the “Frente para la Victoria” / “Unidad Ciudadana” and “Frente Renovador” derived from their origin, the relations with the party system and the context of the period, to finally establish the types of opposition communication of both parties.
