Abstract
This work intends to analyze Escucha Activa as a public policy, considering its results obtained in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic and post-pandemic for the older adult population of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Similar policies applied in other countries are comparatively evaluated, as antecedents or cases that take this example as inspiration. Considering the tripartite theoretical conception of State - market and families, it is observed how public policies develop, adapt and vary, based on experience in the field, and can end in the short term due to gubernamental changes in the different areas of the National Public Administration. In any case, those who took part of the process as implementers or users, rated the experience as positive in handling the social demands of older people, collaborating in resolving procedures, offering cultural activities and supporting situations that could include depression, loneliness and even violence towards older people.
