Abstract
In a context of constant technological progress, resources such as computers and the Internet are rapidly being integrated in different social contexts and acquiring a special relevance in the practices that define their functioning logics. This unfolding of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) particularly affects the educational field and the work sphere.
ICT has transformed ways of doing, symbolic exchanges, work and education and hence the processes of domination. Thus, the growing presence of these technologies, both in the educational context and in the world of work, raises questions about how are these technologies integrated into the strategies developed by families belonging to different social classes and what differential benefits are associated to them. That is to say, to how they contribute to the increase or decrease of the existing social inequalities.
Here these issues are problematized within the framework of a theoretical and methodological proposal of applied research that includes, at first, the use of the main secondary sources available on the National Statistics System for the construction of social space, and the description of the regularities present in the different technological consumption associated with reproduction strategies of families that make up the different social classes and fractions. Moreover, in a second part, this research integrates, through interviews, the meanings attributed to these practices by agents representatives of those families.
Through this research we try to recover the social conditions of possibility governing the uses of ICT (positions and provisions) without forgetting the present processing capacity in its realization(stances) as part of the strategies of reproduction, assuming that this practice is not a product of the consciousness of a free subject, nor the direct result of determinations and constraints imposed, but of the relationship between history made things, objectified in fields, and history embodied, incarnate as habitus.
For this analysis, the special case of the agglomerate Gran Córdoba, Argentina is used, in the period 2003- 2015, but aiming to the construction of a hypotheses and the refinement of a specific method to analyze this phenomenon in other contexts.
